Over five years ago, we shared one of our worst original skincare memes on the grid—a still from The Twilight Zone’s “Eye of the Beholder” episode, featuring a woman in facial bandages being, uh, physically restrained by a doctor. Our caption read:
We’re not exactly sure what we meant by that, but it marked the beginning of our journey into the world of skincare, memes and media with Dewy Dudes.
A lot has happened since then. Thankfully, we got better at shitposting about skincare, eventually overcoming early followers’ allegations that we were part of a Glossier guerrilla marketing scheme — and even landing some content work with a few of our favorite brands.
We launched our podcast, moved to New York to be closer to the action, and started interviewing cool people about their personal care routines. And along the way, we took a look under the hood of the male beauty space, attempting to understand the forces shaping male looksmaxxing behavior.
Over the years, we picked up a bit of press attention, created some sick event merch with brand partners, and made a few lifelong friends. None of this would have been possible without the support of our fans, listeners, and followers. We truly appreciate you for putting us on.
That said, some of you probably noticed we took a few unannounced breaks during that time.
Anyone who has ventured into the rarely profitable world of podcasting knows how hard it is to consistently show up for a niche media project while juggling financial commitments elsewhere. And unless your sponsored ad revenue is solidly in the black, burnout from balancing multiple hustles will almost certainly force you to sacrifice the one that’s not covering your $400 facial.
But in 2025, we’re approaching Dewy Dudes differently. For starters, we’re joining Substack to explore new content types and implement a media infrastructure plan to stay consistent. We’ll charge $7 a month for bonus content and episodes to fuel operations—which is about a third of what Erewhon charged for Sabrina Carpenter’s Short N Sweet Smoothie. Guest episodes, along with the occasional host-only recording, will remain free wherever you get your podcasts.
We’re also debuting a new look and feel for Dewy Dudes, beautifully designed and directed by Jean Pierre Consuegra, who’s responsible for a couple viral posters you’ve seen on social.

Finally, we’re expanding our definition of personal care beyond skincare. Longtime listeners know we’re both on the wrong side of 30 now, and while skincare still demands our daily attention, we’re exploring other ways to stay functional and look good. This year, we’ll dive deeper into health and fitness, bringing on health experts, wellness enthusiasts, and people we just want to meet to share their routines and insights.
Despite these changes, Dewy Dudes will always retain its humorous and lighthearted take on how people navigate beauty and wellness amid the challenges of everyday life. At its core, we’re just two childhood friends who met on MySpace in 2006, exploring our ever-changing curiosities and the culture of looking and feeling good.

Product Updates & Promo Codes
We realized we’re on a lot of PR lists, but never put our intel to good use. In the coming weeks, we’ll let subscribers in on news, sales, and exclusive promo codes from our favorite brands.
We’re excited to usher in this new era for Dewy Dudes on Substack. Emily Sundberg of FeedMe recently predicted 2025 will be the year of the beauty newsletter. While we wouldn’t exactly position ourselves as such, we’re bullish on that outlook and proud to join the growing list of Substack’s beauty and wellness creators.
Thank you to all the listeners, guests, and fans who’ve helped us get to this point. We hope you’ll subscribe and join us for what’s next.
